About Rwenzori Mountains
The Rwenzori Mountains, often called the “Mountains of the Moon,” are a majestic mountain range located along the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Rising to 5,109 meters (16,762 feet) at Mount Stanley’s Margherita Peak, they are Africa’s third-highest mountains, after Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. The Rwenzoris are renowned for their breathtaking, diverse landscapes, which include lush tropical rainforests, bamboo zones, alpine meadows, and glaciated peaks.
